My name is Jonathan Sánchez and my wife Dedeni. I’m a theologian and counselor with a deep passion for the church of Christ. I serve as executive pastor at El Puente Bilingual Church, alongside Senior Pastor Carlos Miranda in Puebla, México.
Since my seminary days, I have dedicated my ministry to serving teenagers and college students, with the goal of helping them form solid convictions and develop a biblical worldview that can withstand the hostility of the world’s ideologies. To this end, I have developed a
teaching method based on the Sermon on the Mount, using Socratic questions to delve deeper into Jesus’ teaching and the doctrines we can address indirectly through the Sermon on the Mount.
Furthermore, in order to help the church better understand how their faith intersects with their daily lives, I have specialized in Biblical counseling and apologetics, using them as tools—two sides of the same coin—that have been helpful in guiding my brothers and sisters in Christ to look to Him in every aspect of their lives, as well as using counseling and apologetics as pre-evangelistic tools. To this end, I’m in the process of obtaining certification from the ACBC (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors).
Currently, I continue to lead our church’s youth ministry and pastoral responsibilities in counseling, preaching, preparing new preachers for our church and discipleship for the church.
Jonathan has a Ministerial Ordination with CMN.
