For a year, I’ve been consistently going to the streets and ministering to the unhoused population of San Antonio. I meet them where they’re at and provide basic necessities like food, clothing, hygiene products, care packs, and gift cards to local stores. More importantly, I offer human connection, I pray for them, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This advances God’s kingdom by honoring His word, being obedient to The Spirit’s leading, and sharing hope to those overlooked in our society.
The biggest impact I’ve seen was at Culebra Creek Park- an area filled with an unhoused population of about 10-15 people. After months of consistent prayer, evangelism, and on-site Bible Studies, that area is almost completely vacant from the unhoused population, except for 1 or 2 people. I believe this is evidence of God’s transformative power, both to the land and to the people.
Many of my brothers and sisters who labor with me, have grown tremendously in their faith as well. They now have an opportunity to serve the community, in a way that pleases The Lord and feels obedient to their specific calling.
My greatest testimony is to witness men and women, who are on fire for Jesus, care for the needs (both physical and spiritual) of people who desperately need to hear The Gospel.
